The earliest you discover that your Altura Debit or Credit Card has been lost or stolen is the time that you need to contact us to protect your account and your identity.

Please visit your closet branch or call us at 888-883-7228.  Cards sent regular mail typically takes 3-5 business days to receive.

Contact Altura as soon as you realize any of your cards are missing. We will act quickly to stop all transactions associated with those cards.

When you misplace a credit or debit card, more is at stake than just the money in your account. You also have to worry about your identity being stolen. Unfortunately, identity theft and identity fraud are extremely common. But the quicker you act when your cards are missing, the less likely it is to happen to you.

As an additional precaution, you may want to close your bank accounts that are linked with the missing cards. This will keep the money in the account even safer. You can always open a new account after you’ve closed your old ones.

Cashier’s Checks are safer than personal checks because the funds are guaranteed and also do not contain your account number.

Tips On How to Avoid Cashier’s Check Fraud:

  • Know the person giving you the check
  • Verify that the check was drawn off of Altura Credit Union
  • Verify the check has cleared.

Are There Fees to Purchase a Cashiers Check?
