Payment Options with Altura Credit Union
Protecting You from Overdrafts
If you have payroll direct deposit (PDD) in your Altura checking account, you qualify for our Courtesy Pay service. With courtesy pay, you have extra protection against insufficient funds. If you ever don’t have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, Courtesy Pay kicks in. Altura Credit Union will cover the difference up to a certain amount. You don’t have to worry about transactions being declined or your checks bouncing.
To use Courtesy Pay, you will have to pay a fee. This fee is only applied when Altura needs to help you cover a transaction associated with your account. With Courtesy Pay, the transaction is paid for, the fee is assessed, and the account is taken negative. Altura does this if you have payroll direct deposit because we know you will have a deposit soon to cover the overdraft.
Courtesy Pay definitely makes your life a little easier! Keep in mind, however, that Altura pays overdrafts at its discretion. That means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.
How It Works
If you want to continue using Courtesy Pay, you must opt-in. If you do not opt-in, the service will be discontinued on your account. Your debit and ATM transactions will also be denied if you have insufficient funds in your account. You can opt-out of this service at any time.
To opt-in to Courtesy Pay and assure that your account continues to receive this overdraft protection service, contact Altura Credit Union’s member services. You can call 1-888-883-7228 or visit your local branch. If you want more information, you can also download the complete details of this service by clicking here.
